I originally used NOS 6B4G's and used the 5R4 rectifier to keep the B+ down. Also put in a "dual mono" PS using 2 Dyna chokes (common 10 uf C at the beginning, 400+ uf chokes at the output of each choke. - plenty of room under the chassis.Current unit I'm building has the Sovtek's and it looks like I'll stick with the GZ34 to get the higher voltage.
BTW I put the 6DJ8's on the same filament supply as the output tubes and noticed no problems - has been running for 2 + years. VERY reliable - driving Quad 63's of all things - Heaven, I'm in Heaven
