Everybody below going, "Cheaper, cheaper!"I sell commercially a line preamp for $1500 that you yourself can build for ~$200 in parts, including a Bud Box.
Am I making a killing? @#$%! no! The thing is built in a chassis, that for $1K retail value, pays me a bare workingman's wage to build. DIY guys don't G A S about this; they proudly display their non-breadboard circuit, with thousands of clip leads all over the living room floor. Guys like me need a distinctive and well executed chassis if we're selling to S O, if indirectly.
You should be talking to me about this, or Ryan Tew (Red Dragon Audio), etc.
