Single-ended eases the treble of harsh recordings and makes things a whole lot more liveable. I use 2A3's with 95dB speakers to get rid of harshness, I have over 300 blues recordings(mostly awful sound quality) which were unlistenable with SS or p-p 6550 w/feedback. You will not get the detail of p-p but, considering old blues records they will be very listenable.Richard Riley
