That might not be sufficient to eliminate the need for feedback. Distortion isn't the only characteristic that affects sound quality. System damping must also be considered. Well-damped speakers like horns can provide a beautiful interface for a triode. But other types typically require an amplifier with a significant damping factor of its own. There's nothing wrong with using a moderate amount of feedback to help improve system performance in this regard.
