RE: NOVICE SRPP problem please help

I want to bring to your attention an article that appeared in the May and June 2010 issues of audioXpress written by Merlin Blencowe titled: The Optimized SRPP Amp. As stated in the article, whether a circuit is a true SRPP depends on the load. If it can't drive current (ie direct connected to next stage) then the circuit is single-ended, not push/pull; with a very weak CCS load. Where things can get interesting is if the two tubes are the same and Rk1 = Rk2 and are not bypassed. If the output is taken off the lower tube's plate, the gain equation becomes one half mu (u/2). a "half mu stage" if you will. All it requires to implement is one dual triode and two resistors. The output voltage will be one half the B+. Disadvantages are: a rather high output impedance ( (ra +Rk(u+1))/2 ) and poor PSRR of 6dB. I am currently using this circuit as the input stage in an amp that is direct connected to the driver. I am implementing a CCS fed active shunt reg. to provide the low noise B+.
