Dave>> #3 will keep the output stage from modulating the input stage
But lose channel seperation
It's all a compromise somewhere>> also why are you using two serial autoformers for attenuation?
Here's how it came about ...
I built the DAC preamp as something I wanted to try.
Then I was going to use a resistive volume control
on this amp I was designing from parts mostly from
my disappointing and scrapped SE KT90 CF amp.
Meanwhile I was using a Mosfet amp I had around but
the combination was giving me limited volume control range.
I was thinking that the Edcor would give me more range.
As well as the option of gain if it may be needed.
Used like a course volume control, I guess.
Then I was thinking that the plate amps 25K input impedance
was the culprit of loading down your ATVC so
I put a 100K in series with that output to help because
the Plate Amp had plenty of gain to compensate.
Now I realize I have plenty of gain so I will rewire the Edcors for
only attenuation which will increase the inductance load because the
Edcors come with the input going about the center tap.
Actually the Edcors come with the slider
on the input that I didn't like at all !!!
So I wired them backwards from their original design.
So that's how it came about.DanL
