Have you obtained (or measured) data on that choke in order to correlate the loss of inductance vs. DC current? You may not have anywhere near the amount of L you think. Ferrite cores can easily lose 90% of their initial inductance when currents of .5-1A are applied. If you're using laminated iron, that's even worse.
