For instance in my linestage I use a 270mH 3 ohm first choke ...Have you obtained (or measured) data on that choke in order to correlate the loss of inductance vs. DC current? You may not have anywhere near the amount of L you think. Ferrite cores can easily lose 90% of their initial inductance when currents of .5-1A are applied. If you're using laminated iron, that's even worse.
