The point...I was trying to pick a decent resistor to use in higher power applications. I'd like to use industrial (read: Mouser stock) resistors for those tasks, but there are so many different options that it makes the uninitiated head spin - even among specific compositions. Heck, among the Vishay WW's alone there are several different varieties to choose from.

I keep hearing that the Hammond OPTs are not as great as some others. I've tried to source other brands but haven't had much luck finding 40% UL taps among them.

If I remove the 47ohm resistors, won't the voltage rise a little higher than one would want for the tubes involved?
