I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing here. You are talking about CMRR, a property of the circuit. I'm talking about differential noise suppression, a property of the DHT itself.I should have explained more clearly. Let me quote Lynn again:
If the audio-frequency return currents are connected to one side of the filament instead of the virtual center, then 40 to 50 dB of AC noise rejection of the filament is thrown away for no good reason.
