Using one or two transformers that weigh 17 lbs, are 5.25" by 5" by 5" each, have terminals on the top, and look like something in a power station is to me NOT practical. Not to mention ugly. I have a hard enough time convinceing my wife that a tube amp that looks decent is worth it. Not even I could justify this thing.There is more to the equation than cost, IMHO ...
