Re: pre-amp output transformer

The 47k input impedance of your power amp should present a good load for a 6SN7 through a simple 1:1 transformer. A 1:1 is likely to better (wider) frequency response than a step down anyway. The specs to look for are that it will be happy with the bias current, and that it will be happy at the signal levels you're running. I'd recommend running the 6SN7 at more like 8mA. The signal level should be easy. I'm not familiar with the Krell, but it probably doesn't take more than 2 or 3V rms for full power.

Lundahl offers a lot of choices, but I think they are mostly balanced, i.e. 1+1:1+1. I'm not sure if they offer a simple singled ended 1:1 line output transformer.

I'll put in another vote for Jack at Electraprint. Talk to him about what you want and he'll make it for you at a reasonable price.

Having said all of that, I have to ask: have you tried running the Krell directly from your attenuator without the 6SN7 and coupling cap? Do you really need the gain?
