I did not compensate for the increased voltage, neither did I 'deal' with the change in inductance value and/or the different inductance/frequency/current behaviour of the LMT choke.

You could say that even while the LMT choke messed up the tuning of the PSU and my carefully selected op-points, it still sounded better to my ears...;-)

More seriously. This quick swap was not intended to make a scientific evaluation of low DCR iron in the PSU. If you change iron, many things change.

I think yhe ultimate question is if one/I can build a subjectively better 'sounding' PSU using low DCR iron. For now, I think the answer is yes.

After installing the LMT choke, my B+ increased about 8V. I use fixed bias, so I compensated the bias so that 65mA is running trough the tube, just like it was before the change. I know you still operate under different conditions than (higher plate voltage, more bias) but changing the bias yields not such a improvement as the LMT choke did.
