Quicksilver now uses a voltage doubler for the B+ and uses the half way point to feed the screens. You could something similar for the front end circuit if you start off with a 600 volt B+.. Guess it shows there's nothing new under the sun, ast least when it comes to tubes. Also interestingly, I saw a Stromberg Carlson which runs twin B+ secondaries, with a 5U4 for the output tubes and a 6X4 for the inputs. That was pretty neat.
