Home Tube DIY Asylum

Do It Yourself (DIY) paradise for tube and SET project builders.

Most, if not all, Mil-specs wires got lousy copper ..

Hi.

I tried quite a few, all silver plated with PTFE Teflon skin, like Mil-W-16878/4 & /5 for interwiring & for building interconnects, but I am NOT impressed at all.

Get Kynar which comes with silver plated OFHC pure copper. I only use single #30 for all my amps interwiring (which I got plenty). I also multi-strand them up for interconnects which, being flexed & stretched all the time, need to be built strong.

It makes nite & day difference, sonically to say the least.
