Thanks for the explanation and such, Dave. Good to know about the Rp acting as resistor in parallel with the plate choke.

in this case, the preamp (one of several) is generally not a cap-coupled output. Choices I have used with good success are a passive preamp, (TVC or Autoformer), active Xover (Bryston 10B - maybe cap coupled out but not sure?), or Transformer-output preamp (10/801/av20 DHT linestage).
