don't know what the problem is. I built the one that he has for the 6L6GC push pull. Added the RCA preamp/tone control 6EU7 in the front and it works perfectly.If you built the amp and get NO sound, there's likely a wiring error somewhere. Even a poorly designed amp would make some kind of sound, or noise. Probably a short rather than an open since an open would likely generate static noise.
Actually, I think that he says somewhere in the book that the schematics that he put in the books are ones that he's built, but I'm going by memory so that might not be the case. A mind is a terrible thing and etc.
