NAKAMICHI 682ZX Problem

Hi, I posted this on the nak site a few days ago but didn't get any useful replies.

Hope someone can help me out with this problem. I noticed recently that with the recording inputs and master control on full setting that I have only just been reaching 0dB on the level indicators.Now nothing is being recorded onto the tapes at all even though the level meters are showing up to the 0dB point.
What should I be looking at to rectify the situation? I am expecting bad news I think! Many thanks for any help.
