This one has the "gear drive"

not the notorious small idler that they had in the BX and a few other series.

I've had several Naks in the past - 600, LX-3, and CR-1a. This one isn't the build quality of the 600 but it seems as well built as the LX and better than the CR. Sound-wise, IIRC, it's about the same as the CR-1a. BTW, the LX and CR died due to a bad controller IC. The 600 got sold on ebay to some guy in Japan.
