We used to use those all the time back when I worked with mini and mainframe computers back in the 70s. It sounds just like the model we used that had little rolls of lint free cloth you'd put a little Iso alcohol on it and the roll would advance a little at a time as the tape wound through. The tensions the machine runs at may be a bit much for 1/4" tape but might work for 1/2" 4/8 channel audio tape.Dave
