Hello, DBLD:I would be careful when winding or rewinding tapes like yours before trying to transfer them.
The use of a good Nakamichi deck to transcribe them may prove very useful because they had a feature which moved the built-in pressure pad away from the heads, completely circumventing or eliminating the need for their use.
Whatever deck you select for a final transfer, check to be certain that it has been cleaned (heads, tape pathway and pinch rollers) and has also been properly degaussed (demagnetized) before you wind up with further damage to the tape, itself.
