Do you notice a slowdown of the tape playing speed ?
I had a case on mine ( an AIWA Ad-F990 ) where it would slow down, after playing for a few minutes.
Lubricating the flywheels took care of it.
I don't know the internals of the BX-300 but there nust be some kinda of an axle that pushes the tape against the pinch roller...
