While your sale price may indeed suffer a bit, you will avoid any nasty surprises, and a machine, worth preserving, is not going to be damaged or even destroyed.

I have received quite a few damaged products, without an exception due to ridiculously inadequate packing. And even from dealers, which is more surprising. Ditto for some of my friends.

I myself have made 2-3 hour each way purchasing trips, and some people will travel even further.
