I also have some SA-X and Maxell XL-IIS, and even some TDK SA, which I keep for when people want me to make tapes of LPs for them.But you are correct...the price of Metal tape has really gone up over the last 2 years...with supply dwindling...sometimes I find good Metal NOS in dollar/discount stores for around a dollar each...but it's hit and miss...
When you think of how much time & effort to actually record over 300 blank tapes...I don't I will ever get to using them all!!
