Picked up a nice Technics RS-m280 recently. Direct drive, 3 motor, 3 head system from 81-82. Works really well with one exception. When you hit the STOP button, the left motor keeps turning, which of course causes the tape to spew into the well and disaster ensues. Usually a sharp rap on the casettee well door will cause the motor to disengage. Doesn't happen every time but is becoming more frequent.Searches here in VA would indicate the brake pads may be worn out. However it could be that the STOP button isn't working. Anyone have any advice or ideas where to start troubleshooting. If it is the brake pads, can someone tell me how to replace them?
Thanks
