The Gallery only accepts gifs and jpgs as I recall. If it's a jpg and saved in that format, it should be fine. There is a size limit, but I thought you'd get a different error message like too big or something. It's possible that it went over quota for storage limits. If you login to your Gallery and go to the bottom of the page, you should see the limits and how much you're using.
