Too many variables

to really discuss here without knowing more about your particular situation.

Suffice it to say, a competent DirecTV tech should be able to arrive at a solution. This equipment has been in the field for a couple of years now.

In my case, my Genie mini (connected to my 4K TV) is hard-wired to my Genie DVR, which is (or, at least, was) the preferred connection method.

How old is your TV? Do all Sonys have this problem? (That would be hard to imagine.)
