re-wiring an amp...

My dealer just gave me a Musical Fidelity P-170 power amp. He has been saying that the amp was very good, but there were some cheap parts in it (weak links in his mind). He removed the speaker terminals and the RCA inputs and put WBT connectors for speakers and some other RCA connectors (very good in his words). He also removed internal wiring from the inputs and speaker terminals and replaced with wire from a high grade wire ($40/ft. I think Harmonic Technology). He gave it to me to try out.
Big, BIG difference from what I was using (Integra 7.1 as a pre, and an H|H amp that someone had lent me). Maybe this is not as punchy in the bass, but the soundstage has opened up more than I could have imagined (side-side and front-back).

My question comes from the re-wiring portion. He had re-wired part of it a while ago, and just finished the job a couple days ago. He used different wire on one of the speaker terminals than the other (the white wire inside I think is different on the left and right channels...the return). He said that it is the same guage, but from a different company...same quality (only a a 5-6" of wire). Do you think this will make a difference? Will it be audible? he said I shouldn't worry about it...as the short run of wire and where the wire is won't make an audible difference from the other wire. Just checking your opinions.

Thanks.
