Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

To me, this is a naysayer's clear statement, not "implication" at all!..

Hi Ted.

One can't hear the difference should find out why one can't hear it.
Would it be a lousy system or the ways of A/B testing or whatever?

IMO, it doesn't make sense to condemn those who can hear the difference, implying they are 'suckers'.

Of course, there are audiophiles who listen to sales pitch But many here, including yours truly, have done A/B tests & do hear the difference.

Sometimes, test method can be an issue. Let me tell you how I did
my A/B test for my DIY copper & my DIY silver/Teflon interconnect before I settle down with AG after many years using copper.

At lower volumes of complex music, the difference can be negligible.
But if you crank it up at loud levels, it shows up the true colours. Like what I did recently, at 115-dB SPL (read out from a digital sound level meter measured 145" from the tip of the 8" Lowther full range speaker unit to the listener's ear, where the sound level meter was placed.

At this very loud volume, the music was very enjoyable, loud but NOT noisy, thanks to the hi-performance rig used for the audition. My silver interconnects can still hold all the instruments in their perspectives, preseving all the subtle details as if it were at lower sound level. But, my DIY copper cable simply crap out despite it sounds pretty good at normal volumes.

IMO, this is an acid test showing the audible difference among cables.

I would suggest whoever says there is no audible difference in cables
try the way I did & see if the difference shows up. I bet you'll.

Good cable listening
