Right. I think the other thing that adds to the debate is the glowing reviews that come out. When a reviewer goes on and on about the benefits of X cable over Y, it gives the idea that there is a huge difference. A huge difference should be found in a few blind trials, right?
What they probably should say is, "X was better, in my opinion, at least I think I heard the benefit a couple times during the trial. Honestly, only a professional cello player auditioning a great recording of himself playing his cello will probably be able to hear the improvement consistently. But there IS a benefit. If you have an extra $1000, you should upgrade. After YoYo Ma might come over..."
