"Do you think the same of SACD?"I've never liked how "high-rez" formats performed, in regard to long-term listenability. But since so few digital sources of any kind sound decent (to audiophiles), SACD at least has a chance. (I've read technical claims of flawed design concept, but I've never gotten familiar with this format. So I refrain comment.) Now I've heard claims of digital amps rivaling SET amps sonically, but to my ears (and to audio people I know personally) there's no comparison. In fact, I still prefer good, inexpensive solid state (Samson) over digital/switching amps.
