Charles, when you measured this change in noise with pot position, did you short the input to ground first?
Do you have any idea what the actual noise of the input stage of the HCA-1000 is, compared to a normal op amp?
BTW, there is already an RF filter at the input of the HCA-1000, composed of a series 1K resistor and a 200pF capactor to ground.
