Re: Ambient Temperature Superconductivity

Hi John,

Yes, it's pretty clear that a number of folks inhabiting this board are charter members of the Flat Earth Society. Of course, I expected no different from Steve Eddy, given his reputation on here as a close-minded, argumentative smartass. Several, including Eddy, threw out wild, unfounded descriptions of what ROOTS is about.

It boils down to this: some materials display superconducting properties at ambient temperatures. This has been known for decades. The trick is to produce those materials in forms that can be used in commercial application (i.e. preferably at larger than nanometer scales). There's no 'perpetual motion' or other fairy dust involved, simply a major gain in efficiency. Those who claim that ROOTS is involved in some sort of scam are either 1) incapable of understanding the concepts involved, or 2) unwilling to do the background, or 3) have some sort of alternative agenda.

I expect that each and every reader of this note was affected in one way or another by the stock markets' technology bubble of 1999-2001. We are all aware of what sort of trash was taken public during that time period. Ripoffs, scams, wild-ass ideas of no substance - they all robbed no-nothing 'investors' of millions. ROOTS - and their parent company, Magnetic Power - were in existence during that time. To all those critics who suggest that these companies are about misleading folks, I have just one question: WHY THE HELL DIDN'T THE COMPANY TAKE ITSELF PUBLIC AT THAT TIME??? There's absolutely no question that it could have done so and, without a shadow of a doubt, at extreme profit to its principals (and to myself, for that matter). The answer, of course, is that those principals have principles (pardon the play on words). But, of course, Eddy and his ilk could not possibly accept such a blatantly obvious argument.

Mr. Eddy and his cohort in misdirection Jeeves felt they needed to write HIGHLY inappropriate comments regarding the quality of that investment. I wonder why they are driven to trash people personally? Some sort of low self-esteem thing, I expect.

John, there is a good chance that this company will produce something of true and far-reaching value. Conversely, there is probably an equally good chance that they will fail. My investment in the overall scheme of things is a relative drop in the bucket. I honestly hope that these characters are still on this board in 2 years time. I'll be here, either stating that ROOTS could not manage to commercialize the technology, or I'll be rubbing their noses in cyber-doodoo.
