Queg, hi. There are so many choices these days. There is an amp that Sony released some time ago that looked very interesting to say the least. I have not read anything about it anywhere as yet. It is only 50 Watts per channel and has attenuators on the front to adjust gain. The price was very reasonable. It looked to me like Sony was testing the pro waters with this amp. Obviously Sony is huge enough to make just about anything they want to whatever level of refinement they want. I can't remember the model number at the moment, but you should be able to find it via Full Compass Systems or whatever. Call it a hunch or intuition but I have a feeling this amp is worth hearing. Just a thought. From time to time Sony has made some remarkably good sounding solid state amps: TAN-5550 etc.
