Not sure what it's gonna sound like until I try it..I have a pair of CV with an 18 and a horn and they sound good.(factory design). I have a set of cabs that were made for a 15 and horn(s) so thought I'd use the 18 in it. I think it's whats called a folded horn. the Woofer fires up and to the rear and dumps out the bottom front of the cab.
If it doesn't sound good I can use a different crossover and add a big dome mid or even an 8" wofer from something to give it some mids. It's gonna be trial and error as I don't have the knowledge or the time to use any of the software for designing cabs and crossovers. I know it's a science but I'm sure I can get reasonable sound with a little patience and luck.
