Hi - if it is of any value, I have used the Ultra Curve at our church but have been using the Ultra Drive Pro in my home application. Depending on your application, you may want to check out the Ultra Drive Pro (DCX2496) which has terrific sounding A/D's and D/A's - full parametric EQ capabilities and an ultimately flexible crossover. For the balanced/unbalanced conversion, I've us a Rane BB-44X which contributes no noise whatsoever as it uses high quality transformers and is completely passive. I have tried "cheating" by just using XLR/RCA adapters and found the sound quality to be harsh and unpleasant. Good luck!
