Guess I shoulda clarified...

"On-boards don't affect sustain or tone unless they have circuitry specifically intended for that purpose."

Except when you use overdrive on the amp, then there is typically much more sustain since the amp is getting a much hotter signal & overdrive affects the sustain. (Better harmonics, too.) Otherwise, for a clean signal, then yeah-the sustain isn't an issue. I usually just used the Charvel for the rock stuff, so that's what I got out of it. For most stuff, I usually played my others.

So basically, we're both right.
