Hi! I was wondering if anybody has advice for me for mixing in the low frequencies? I want to make the low end of my tracks tight and fat. Some tracks I've done in the past have been accused of being 'woofy' which I'm not sure I fully understand the meaning of. I think they were a bit un-tamed... Too much low-low bass maybe? I've tried to be much more careful with mixing any bass now, but I'd like to do better.I currently am fond of using the Waves Maxxbass plugin on certain parts, but now a friend of mine tells me that spells trouble for people with subwoofers. Has anybody got any experience with this?
The other issue I am having is trying to get separation between kicks and basslines. I don't like to pitch either of them too high but if they sit in the same frequencies they become less distinguishable. If I pitch one up it gets kind of anemic and un-fat in my opinion. Anybody have suggestions for this?
