Hi, I'm w/ Frost on the choice of mics, only if you get a noisereduction system I wouldn't take dbx for the job as it certainly changes the sound, dolby S (or SR even) would be a far better choice for recording such a delicate instrument. how about this ideal setup:
2 x earthworks QTC1 through a TL-Audio C1 dual tube compresser (1.5:1 to 2:1) recorded through a nice Dolby S system. However these are all quite professional devices and I haven't a clue if your able to get yer hands on that kind of stuff. Good luck on the choice of equipment and remember to experiment w/ mic positioning!
