I am producing a fairly involved album project on a shoe string budget, and I'd like some advice on what the best microphone(s) would be for me to pick up for the job, specifically for mic'ing a baby grand piano. Also, what can you tell me about mic placement for the best results?I've been told that in today's age of digital production, I could get the best results for my purposes by simply recording with the right mic, a mini disk recorder, and inputting the result directly into Protools. Of course I'd want the best audio material possible to work with. Any thoughts, opinions, or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! - Freewill39.
