One of the places that I found some useful utilities and such for maintaining my pc is answersthatwork.com.
From cleaning out the registry to zapping spyware to managing startup items and processes. (I recently had to install the realone player. It installed a startup registry key without showing up in the tray. I quickly put a stop to it wasting my bandwidth.)
