To be really accurate you should measure the distance between Low to Mid drivers or Mid to High drivers from the leading edge of the voice coil. A time difference or even phase will be less noticable going from bass to mid but mid to high end will be very apparent.With the horn driver placed in front of the bass/mid driver either with a delay or physical placement the system will sound brighter and "tipped" forward by and with the opposite example the system sounds dull. With a proper time alignment (and correct phase) the mid will sound full and on the proper plane with the cabinet, as opposed to having either a forward or recessed sounding mid band which will be most apparent in vocals.
