Re: Get a digital board with everything built in.

Hey Mike- my comment was based on personal experience after getting a Yamaha 01V to replace my Alesis board and twelve rack-spaces of outboard gear. Live I only use the Yahama, and in the studio the only outboard gear I use is a Lexicon pure reverb and a TC Finalizer. While the pre's of the Yahama aren't quite Neve quality the overall improvement in sound both live and studio is appreciable, and I don't have to haul a rack or patch it up. The reviews on the new 01V96 and the higher end Yamaha boards indicate that the pre's are now a lot better. On the high end of the scale the board I'm seeing more of all the time at the 6,000 seat venue I work at is Yahama digital, and for the same reasons. It may not be for everyone, but a digital board works for me.
