Way back in 1975 while still in high school, I bought the lower power D-75 model which had the same circuit topology. Boy, was I a dude having a "19 inch rack mount" amp! It was pretty decent back then as far as solid state was concerned. Not in the class of an Audio Reseach D-76a, but then again I paid $450 for it. Much better overall than the IC-150 (Ichhh series!) preamp. Reliable, hell yes. I inadvertently welded a screwdriver to one of the binding posts by shorting the outputs. Amp shut down for a minute and came right back up.

Twenty some years later, however, those units are outclassed even by Bose Wave radios in terms of sonic performance.
