Those 85-16s were alyays a nuisance to me... the DBX cards had Omron relays on them that were alyays failing! -Tracks that would work if you bypassed the noise reduction, but since the relays did the bypassing sometimes you had to actually patch the RCA (!!!) connectors at the back to get round it!

The later 85-16'B' (which was a light tan colour, instead of the darker olive color of the original 85-16) wert to FET switching on the noise reduction cards, and they were a lot more reliable. -the transport was about the same, -buttersoft heads that we ended up replacing with "Branch & Appleby" heads... -Not sure who makes heads in England any more, but I am pretty sure that B&A are out of business.
