hello
i have an older mixer made by allen and heath from the seventies i believe- an SD12-2. i know its not anything special but it suits my needs except for one thing-- it has terrible amounts of hiss. when i turn the gain up to a normal listening level the whole sound is undercut by the hiss, and recordings are ruined. my question is this, is it worthwhile and effective to try and replace the capacitors costing me about $50 or so, or will the hiss never really go away. i really only use the board for the eq which is nice for my older synths which are also pretty noisy.
thanks for any advice
j
