Then the pots on the amps should be up full, these are attn not preamps. As I said before, I wouldn't want to have the metering averaging over 0-3db VU on Rock music. If the gain structure is correct through your graphic and active crossover and you are pushing more than this, I respecfully suggest that you don't have enough power for the gig. Volume should be controlled from the master output faders, and the gain structure down the channel strip should be as for recording, ie pre-amping mics and lines to unity gain through the use of the input pot, balancing the mix with the faders, and controlling the volume of the system from the master faders.Hope this answers your question.
