Your points are well taken. My thoughts were that they might be OEMed by Mackie, but I was not aware of the conflict between the companies. They do appear incredibly similar except for Mackie's use of a passive radiator vs. behringer's ports. I had thought that Mackie might be making use of their existing tooling from the aging 824 with plans to come out with a newer product. And yes, the proof is in the listening. Re:"theres no such thing as a free lunch." That may well be true, but as someone with experience from the 'audiophile' side I can say "Sometimes you get overcharged for lunch, breakfast and dinner".Still curious, anyone actually listened to the Behringers?
