Re: Need Small PA Spkr Suggestions

Hi folks-

I know the Meyers are expensive, but the sound is far and away better than anything else I've heard, and I say that coming from a high-end home hi-fi background. The CQ series has tons of power, but the UPA1s seem to have the edge in fidelity. When looking to install a new PA in our church, I was actually able to tour the Meyer factory and was very impressed...these folks care about the sound. We have had them in for 2 years now, and we continually get compliments on the fidelity, especially the HF driver.

We did a system-on-the-cheap with EV Eliminators for the youth band, and there's just no comparison. The HF horn is just nasty sounding to me.

Being nuts about fidelity, I'd go looking for a pair of used Meyers. No more dragging amps around (although the speakers are heavy). They're going to last forever and have terrific resale value anyway!

Regards, Mat
