Re: Compressor suggestions

Frost, are you going to use thie new Compressor mainly for vocals?

I get the best results, by training my vocalist extensively, so I can get away without one. The strait line approch is the very best ticket.

I know what am going to say sounds "Cheap", but their are so many "Rabbits" that can be pulled out of the hat.

I auditioned a 300 Dollar program called T-Racks. That thing can sound very good. It is a vaccum tube emulation , Like a plug-in, but Works alone, in your workstation. You may be familiar with it, but have you actually played with it? It uses 32 bit tech. , and acts like an analog piece. I do use the Drawmers, for instruments, and the Uries'.

It cost 1/100th of one side of my efx rack, and actually gets' employeed, from time to time.

Vocal practice, for Vox, is the first step. I use the Bruel&Kjaer 3529's for vocals, and try to use as few outboards as possible.

Keep it as simple, and short as possible , in the signal chain.
