Just ideas!

Keegan: I'm in the same boat and just getting into Linux. I think the hardwear will come and go and obsolete itself many times over. The best thing you could invest in is a good patch system like an ADC or a Switchcraft either 1/4" or Bantam and a drum booth. Drums are so loud they leak into everything. I would also get a stereo pair of a good large diaphram condenser like the Audio Technica AT4060 or the Neuman TLM170 or one that you could change the patterns like the Milab Embla. The Grado phones don't seal very well and will cause feedback and to work in the booth you gona have to get something like a Koss Pro-4AA. Additional things you can do is build polydirectional diffusers out of 4 x 8 plywood and perf board. You could build them like a set on a play stage that can be c-clamped together. They can be changed by sliding the perfboard and closing the holes. These are very versatile for changing and damping rooms. Good luck! James
